BenitoLink Fact Check Series on Political Smear Mailers
A large number of attack mailers have been sent out in a coordinated smear campaign, led primarily by former Mayor Ignacio Velazquez and Councilmember Rolan Resendiz who organized a group that called themselves the “Hollister Guardians.” While that group billed themselves as grassroots, they have a spent thousands of dollars on mailers. There were so many mailers filled with misinformation that BenitoLink created a Fact Check Series to investigate the claims. As part of that investigation, it was revealed that the Hollister Enchilada mailers, as well as a private Facebook group called the Hollister Enchilada were created by former Mayor Ignacio Velazquez, who lost to Mayor Casey in 2022. Find out the truth behind all the misinformation!
